Disinfection of electronic code lock keypads
With the COVID-19 pandemic, we have received queries about how electronic code lock keypads can be cleaned.
Please find below instructions for properly cleaning the keypads:
The keypads of the electronic code locks are not protected against dust or moisture, so detergents or disinfectants should not be sprayed directly onto the keypad.
Keypads can be cleaned and disinfected by wiping the keypad with a clean cloth or a paper towel moistened with regular computer keypad cleaning agents. Do not wet the cloth too wet. Alternatively, you can use the disinfectant wipes that are designed for cleaning regular computer keyboards.
Gently wipe the keypad with a damp cloth or disinfectant wipe. Try to perform the cleaning so that you do not press the keys unnecessarily. Take special care not to touch any electrical connectors on the cloth, such as audit or programming ports or e-key reader.
If you have any questions regarding disinfection, please do not hesitate to contact us.
